District 1 Candidates Vision Statements
Mark Batchelor: Mark’s vision for a brighter future of District 1 includes a facelift of the Tamiami Trail from Fifth Avenue South to Collier Boulevard and then south to Marco Island. “We don’t need any more unsightly discount retail centers when we can instead offer better restaurants, shopping, and places for our youth to enjoy—all of which provide jobs,” says Mark.
Cliff Donenfeld: Our retiring Commissioner, Donna Fiala, takes pride in not being beholden to private interests seeking to influence the decisions of the Board for their own personal gain. Cliff will dedicate himself to being a full-time Commissioner and continue to carry that torch of integrity. Cliff will echo the mantra, “This District is Not for Sale!”.
William T. Douglass: I believe in fiscal responsibility and common-sense solutions not bureaucratic ones. As County Commissioner I will preserve our low tax rate, sustain our quality of life and safety, improve traffic flow, control growth and advocate for workforce, GAP, and senior housing.
Rick LoCastro: Experience Matters!... to ensure a proven & prepared leader for Collier County. A retired Air Force Colonel having served 24 years, Air Force Academy graduate, combat veteran, worked for 2 U.S. Presidents, Air Force One Commander, Base Commander of multiple military installations, Naples healthcare & business leader, former COO of Physicians Regional Medical Center, Avow Hospice Executive, and active SW Florida & state leader. Rick brings an abundance of financial, environmental, community development, and proven experience to the seat ensuring District 1 and all of Collier County is led by one who has proven expertise in all areas required and more… delivering Proven Experienced Leadership!
Jacob Winge: The only candidate with service on three county advisory boards, nearly 100 years of family history, a product of Collier County Public Schools. A Civic Association President representing East Naples. A results driven, tested Conservative Republican and empowering neighborhood leader. A fighter for our community with a commitment to being a full-time commissioner, not a lobbyist, realtor or with other obligations beyond service in this role.
